UNDP

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Council approached AOD to create a live painting as part of their #2030NOW developmental conference. My students and I took on this challenge by tapping into the event as it happened and producing a live Info-graphic; by selecting a limited palette of colours, mediums and materials as our legend, that would capture the dialogue taking place at the delegates’ tables. The students listened to the conversations taking place and took “visual minutes” as the dialogues went on.

Process Students developed their own systems for gathering and tracking the data based on the physical legend given to them.
They took notes, listened in, sorted the information and applied it to the posters.

Outcomes The hand-painted posters were then scanned and labeled with the topic of each discussion that was recorded.
